From time to time, EWGS received old photographs from the Spokane area with some identification and are asked to pass them on to descendents. Recently received was a photograph of two young men taken by the Milton Loryea Studio in Spokane. The names written on the back are Yancy Courtney Griffin and Francis M. Barrett. It is not certain which man is which.

The Milton Loryea Studio is listed in the Spokane City Directories for the years 1893 to 1909.

Francis M. Barrett was born 31 Jul 1888 in Oregon and died 29 April 1969 in Portland, Oregon.
Yancy Courtney Giffin was born 14 May 1886 and was living in San Franciso in 1917 when he registered for the draft.
